When is the best time?
Undoubtedly, the perfect time of day for outdoor wedding day photos is during Golden Hour.
Golden Hour essentially acts as a real-life filter for all of your photographs, giving the landscape a beautiful golden glow that transfers to the edges of your silhouette, softening all edges and removing dark shadows that would otherwise be distractingly noticeable.
The ideal time to take wedding day photos is 60 minutes to two hours before sunset. Doing this will ensure that your pictures have the best lighting and that you have as much time to take as many pictures as possible.
Your photos could take upwards of an hour to capture, depending on how many guests you have invited, so it is important to allow as much time for this as you can.
While your taking your perfect portraits why not keep your guests cool by offering them a cold drink from one of our rentable fridges.
Your surroundings will affect the amount of time you have to take your pictures.
If you’re in an open space, you’ll have far more time, as there won’t be buildings or other objects to cast unwelcome shadows. But, if you choose to take photos in mountainous regions or locations with tall and imposing structures, you will have far less time to do so.
The best thing to do is consult your venue coordinator because they will know in which direction the sun sets and roughly what time that happens.

Although it will be colder and possibly darker, you have an advantage over the summertime newlyweds because the “golden hour” lasts much longer in winter. This is because the sun doesn’t ever reach the same point in the sky as in summer. Because of this, the sky will be sunset-like for a much longer portion of the day.
It should be noted, though, that once the sun has started to set, the sky will turn dark very quickly, and it will no longer be possible to take any pictures.
Your photographer will probably pull you away from your party to take a few more pictures before the sun fully sets. So, don’t worry about being caught in the dark.
